Ph.D. in Applied Science
The PhD in Applied Science at Saint Mary's University allows students to conduct research under the supervision of faculty in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Management Science, Math and Computing Science, and Physics. In this program, students complete original cutting-edge research and receive training in applying their research results.

Admission Requirements
- MSc in a discipline related to the proposed research field
- Minimum GPA equivalent of 3.7/4.3 in masters-level coursework
- A faculty member who agrees to supervise your research
Important Dates
- Application Deadline – February 1
- Normal start to program – September 1
- Minimum time to completion – 3 years
Funding
Typical stipends for PhD students range from $21,000 to $34,250 per year. Amounts include funding from all sources, including scholarships and teaching assistantships.
