Division of Engineering Learn about our new homeSaint Mary’s Division of Engineering offers a two-year Diploma in Engineering that provides students with a basic understanding of scientific principles and a foundation in engineering mathematics, design, and technical communication.
After completing the Diploma, students may complete their final two years of a Bachelor of Engineering at Dalhousie University, which has programs accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board in the fields of Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Computer, Industrial, Chemical, and Environmental Engineering.

Two years of cross-curricular course work prepares students for multiple fields.
All of our research faculty have PhDs, and we have field experts in chemical, mechanical, electrical, civil, computer, and biomedical fields.
Students can start working with professors at the end of their first year and become a teaching assistant in their second year.

Engineering studies at Saint Mary’s provides the first two years of an engineering degree in association with neighbouring Dalhousie University. After completing the Diploma in Engineering, a student can also remain an extra year or two at Saint Mary’s to pursue a two-and-a-half or three-year Bachelor of Science degree with Diploma in Engineering or a four-year Bachelor of Science, Major in Mathematics with a Diploma in Engineering.
