A Commuter Bikeway Feasibility Study for the Halifax Peninsula
This study attempts to determine the feasibility of establishing a commuter bikeway system within the Halifax peninsula.
Realizing that there is much to be gained by past experiences, criteria used elsewhere are applied to the peninsula. The result is a series of maps and tables which attempt to demonstrate the suitability of the Halifax peninsula, in relation to bikeway development.
The study concludes that it is feasible to develop bikeway facilities within the Halifax peninsula. However, the methodology used did not allow for the recommendation of specific routes. The limitations of the methodology used are recognized and it is recommended that future studies improve this methodology to improve its suitability for the Halifax peninsula.
