About the SMU African Student Society

The SMU African Student Society is a community of African students who share similar or diverse backgrounds, experiences and learn from each other. The society acts as a safe place for Africans to come together and feel closer to home. It is a place where Africans can connect, as well as help one another. This society is open to non-Africans who want to learn about the diverse African cultures and meet other Africans.

We aim to expand our borders beyond the SMU community, collaborate with Africans from other universities, provide networking opportunities for our members and generally have a good time.

About the SMU Black Student Society (SMUBSS)

The Saint Mary's Black Student Society was founded to bring together students of Black descent to help them meet new people and have a safe space to freely express themselves.

SMUBSS supports the Black Students of Saint Mary's University through education, awareness, events, social activities, unity and community. Our resources for Black students include workshops, networking, resources and engaging events. We're a network that creates a safe space for all Black students from all different backgrounds.

About the SMU Caribbean Society (SMUCS)

The Saint Mary's University Caribbean Society serves as a space to further the academic, intellectual, cultural and social activities of the Caribbean students at SMU. The society aims to be an outlet to express different types of creative talents through society events that highlight Caribbean dance, art and literature.
